Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended warm Easter greetings to the Christian community in Pakistan and across the world, honouring the occasion as a time of reflection on the enduring teachings of Hazrat Jesus (peace be upon him).
In his Easter message shared on Sunday, the Prime Minister described the day as a powerful symbol of hope, renewal, and the universal values of sacrifice, forgiveness, and peace.
“Easter reminds us of the noble teachings of Hazrat Isa (AS), whose message of mercy, compassion, and love continues to inspire and guide people around the world,” he said. “These values—peace, tolerance, and respect for human dignity—are a shared responsibility for all humanity, regardless of faith.”
Prime Minister Sharif also paid tribute to the Christian community’s longstanding contributions to Pakistan’s development. He praised their commitment, integrity, and dedication across various fields, acknowledging them as an integral part of the nation’s social and economic fabric.
“The Christian community has played a vital role in building Pakistan. Their contributions in education, healthcare, public service, and beyond have been truly invaluable,” he noted.
He expressed confidence that the community would continue to play a key role in promoting harmony, peace, and prosperity in the country.
“Their sacrifices and unwavering efforts are a proud chapter in our national story. I am certain they will continue to contribute meaningfully to a more peaceful and prosperous Pakistan,” he added.
The Prime Minister concluded by emphasizing the importance of unity, coexistence, and mutual respect among all religious and ethnic communities, underscoring that the values celebrated during Easter resonate deeply across faiths and cultures, fostering greater understanding and cohesion in society.
