PM Shehbaz Delegates Authority to BOI to Enhance Investor-Friendly Environment

Investor-Friendly Environment

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a proactive move to invigorate economic growth and allure increased investments, has entrusted the Board of Investment (BOI) with the pivotal responsibility of fostering a more conducive environment for investors.

During a comprehensive review meeting focusing on the commercial sector, chaired by the Prime Minister himself, he commended the invaluable contribution of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in bolstering the country’s economic recovery.

Emphasizing the fundamental principle that investments flourish in nations with minimal business impediments, PM Shehbaz Sharif directed the Investment Board to adopt a streamlined, single-window approach.

This strategic directive aims at simplifying procedures and reducing obstacles encountered by investors in their pursuit of opportunities within Pakistan.

Recognizing the indispensable role of the private sector in national development, the Prime Minister underscored the significance of engaging industry experts in policy formulation.

This inclusive approach seeks to enhance the ease of doing business by incorporating insights from those intimately familiar with industry dynamics.

Furthermore, PM Shehbaz Sharif outlined a comprehensive strategy to assess the performance of trade and investment officers stationed in Pakistani embassies worldwide.

He stressed the importance of recognizing and rewarding officers demonstrating exemplary performance, while simultaneously ensuring accountability by replacing those exhibiting unsatisfactory outcomes.

In a bid to augment exports, the Prime Minister unveiled plans for a bi-monthly self-assessment mechanism within the export sector.

Additionally, he mandated the development of a robust trade policy geared towards facilitating business operations.

These initiatives are poised to rejuvenate Pakistan’s economic landscape, fostering an environment conducive to investments, and propelling sustainable growth.
