PM Shehbaz
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced an All Parties Conference (APC) to address the deteriorating security situation in Balochistan. The decision was made following a high-level law and order meeting in Quetta, where the prime minister strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks and vowed to restore peace in the province.
Expressing deep sorrow over the brutal Jaffar Express attack, PM Shehbaz stated that the entire nation mourns the loss of innocent lives. He revealed that the terrorists had held unarmed passengers hostage before executing them in cold blood.
Among the victims were citizens returning home for Eid and army personnel who were targeted by suicide bombers. However, due to the swift and strategic response of the Zarrar Company, 339 lives were saved, and 33 terrorists were neutralized. The prime minister praised the bravery and professionalism of the security forces in handling the situation.
Shehbaz Sharif also questioned the resurgence of terrorism in Pakistan, despite the nation’s immense sacrifices in the fight against militancy. He reminded the nation that Pakistan lost 80,000 lives to defeat terrorism, and the armed forces had successfully crushed the menace.
However, he blamed the current security crisis on those who supported the Taliban and facilitated the release of thousands of militants from prisons.
The prime minister warned that infiltrators disguised as friends are working against Pakistan’s interests and emphasized that no one would be allowed to speak against the country’s martyrs.
He also criticized Pakistan’s “eastern enemy” for spreading propaganda and warned against internal criticism of the military, highlighting that targeting the armed forces would only weaken the nation.
PM Shehbaz stressed that Balochistan’s security and development must be a collective effort and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to prioritizing the province’s stability. He recalled the tragic APS attack, which led to the formulation of the National Action Plan, and urged all political forces to unite against terrorism.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, who also attended the meeting, condemned the Jaffar Express attack and vowed to eliminate terrorism from the province.
He stated that such acts of violence are against Baloch traditions and culture and assured that the provincial government would work tirelessly to restore peace.
The announcement of the All Parties Conference reflects the government’s resolve to bring all political stakeholders together to address the growing security challenges in Balochistan and ensure that terrorism is eradicated once and for all.
