PM Shahbaz takes notice of textile industry crisis, directs Ishaq dar to resolve issues

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to address problems being experienced by the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) in light of the crisis in the textile industry.

Details indicate that the textile sector situation was brought to the prime minister’s attention a day after the APTMA agreed to close mills nationwide.

According to sources, Ishaq Dar, the finance minister, has called APTMA leaders to Islamabad for talks. According to sources, the meeting would start at 4:00 PM today.

Today, a delegation from the APTMA, led by Gohar Ijaz, will travel to Islamabad to present their demands. Ishaq Dar, officials from the power division, and members of the finance ministry will serve as the government delegation’s representatives.

It is important to note that Gohar Ijaz, the head of the APTMA, wrote a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warning that the textile sector was in danger of going out of business due to high energy and gas prices.

PM Shehbaz Sharif took notice of the situation and gave Ishaq Dar the task of resolving the problems the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association was having.
