PM Orders Increased Actions Against Human Traffickers and Smugglers

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the efforts of officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) for capturing Usman Jajja, the notorious leader of the Jajja gang involved in human trafficking.

In a meeting with the officials in Islamabad on Sunday, PM Shehbaz directed that operations against human traffickers be further intensified.

The Prime Minister emphasized that those involved in the grave crime of human trafficking not only endanger precious human lives but also tarnish the country’s international reputation.

To recognize the efforts of the officials involved in the successful operation against the Jajja gang, PM Shehbaz awarded each of them a cash prize of one million rupees. Usman Jajja, the gang leader, is linked to the deaths of several Pakistanis in last year’s tragic boat accident off the coast of Greece.

During the meeting, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry and the Interior Secretary briefed the Prime Minister on the agencies’ performance. Additionally, the Director Generals of the FIA and IB provided updates on the arrests of gang leaders, operators, and facilitators involved in the human trafficking network.
