PM concerned at growing food imports amid devastating floods

The recent terrible floods that damaged millions of acres of ripe crops have increased the country’s dependence on food imports, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday.

The PM claimed in a tweet that Pakistan, an agricultural nation, will also need to import food goods to make up for this loss. He stated that World Food Day today emphasises the significance of comprehensive global initiatives to guarantee food security in various nations around the world.

The PM added that the natural disasters due to climate change and rising prices on the global market are threatening to further exacerbate the global shortage of nutritious food, which is already in short supply.
