Pakistan’s Emphasis on removing trade barriers among SAARC Members

The governor reaffirmed the government’s dedication to establishing peace and fostering prosperity within the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) region. Pakistan aimed to cultivate bilateral and trade relationships with neighboring countries, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect as the foundation.

LAHORE: Governor Punjab Balighur Rehman has expressed Pakistan’s strong dedication to enhancing regional trade within SAARC member nations.

The aim is to foster prosperity and promote economic integration in South Asia, which is recognized as one of the most vibrant and progressive regions globally.

During a meeting with a SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry delegation, Governor Balighur Rehman he has highlighted the significant role of the business community in Pakistan’s economic progress. He commended the private sector for its crucial contributions to the country’s economic development.

Governor Balighur Rehman talks about the government’s commitment to strengthening the economy and promoting trade. He further mentioned that the government’s sincere efforts had successfully navigated the economy out of a crisis.

During the event, SAARC Chamber Vice President Mian Anjum Nisar urged the governor to contribute towards the elimination of trade barriers. This included measures such as accepting product standard certificates and addressing infrastructure limitations at dry ports.

Anjum Nisar highlights Pakistan’s continuous efforts to make Saarc a significant platform for regional cooperation. He also emphasized on equality as a guiding principle.
