ISLAMABAD: Pakistan initiated the 22nd Asian Volleyball Championship with a strong 3-0 victory against Bangladesh on Sunday in Urmia, Iran.
The triumph solidified Pakistan’s advancement to the next round, as Bangladesh suffered defeats in both of their group matches. Pakistan’s position in the knockout stage will be determined by their final group game against Korea on Monday.
Right from the outset, Pakistan established dominance over Bangladesh, maintaining control throughout the match. They secured an initial lead of four points in the first set, allowing Bangladesh to score their first point before extending their lead with another consecutive streak of 4 points, ultimately winning the opening set 25-16.
The second set followed a similar pattern, with Pakistan taking a 3-0 lead initially. While Bangladesh briefly took the lead at 11-10, a series of 8 consecutive points by Pakistan swiftly regained control, giving them a 2-0 lead by winning the set 25-14.
In the third set, Bangladesh offered some resistance, but they never managed to surpass Pakistan’s performance. The Green Shirts secured victory by winning the final set 25-21.
The final score of Pakistan’s win stood at 25-16, 25-14, and 25-21.
Pakistan’s next Volleyball match will be against Korea in the second group match on Monday.
