The Cabinet Division released a notification on Wednesday detailing the public and optional holidays scheduled for the year 2024 in Pakistan.
The 2024 public holiday calendar comprises a total of 11 days, each commemorating significant occasions in Pakistan. Key dates include Kashmir Day on February 5, Pakistan Day on March 23, and Independence Day on August 14.
Religious celebrations are also incorporated into the holiday calendar, with Eid-ul-Fitr spanning from April 10 to April 12, Eid-ul-Azha from June 17 to June 19, and Ashura (9th and 10th Muharram) on July 16 and 17.
It is important to note that the dates for Muslim festivals are tentative and subject to the sighting of the moon, for which the Cabinet Division will issue a separate notification.
Additionally, certain days will be observed as Bank Holidays. On these days, banks and financial institutions will be closed to the public while remaining open for their employees.
