Nawaz Sharif Outlines Prosperity Vision in PML-N Rally for 2024 Election

In a brief but impactful address at an election rally, Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the PML-N and former prime minister, asserted that if he had not been ousted from office by a five-judge Supreme Court bench in 2017, the nation would have experienced widespread prosperity and employment.

Speaking at a sizable gathering in Hafizabad, Nawaz Sharif expressed the party’s commitment to rejuvenate Pakistan’s self-sufficiency. Notable party members, including Saira Afzal Tarar, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Maryam Nawaz, and Azam Nazeer Tarar, joined him at the inaugural rally for the 2024 election campaign.

Reflecting on his previous visits to Hafizabad, Nawaz Sharif emotionally recalled the memories associated with the region. He emphasized that his removal from office in 2017 was not just a personal setback but a disservice to the representation of 250 million people. He claimed that, had he remained in power, the cost of basic necessities would have been lower, inflation would not have been prevalent, and the currency exchange rate would have been more favorable. Nawaz Sharif lamented the impact of alleged fake cases on Pakistan’s international standing, asserting that the nation could have achieved a more prominent position globally, with a respected passport and the potential to become an Asian Tiger.

Posing questions to the gathering, he highlighted his administration’s accomplishments, such as countering terrorism, managing prolonged power outages, and constructing motorways to enhance transportation. Nawaz Sharif pledged that, if re-elected, a new motorway would be built through Hafizabad, emphasizing the district’s deserving status.

Following her father’s address, PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz expressed her gratitude for the warm reception in Hafizabad. She reiterated the party’s commitment to fulfilling promises, including bringing Nawaz Sharif back from abroad. Drawing a contrast between the PML-N’s legacy and recent incidents involving the PTI, Maryam emphasized the party’s dedication to progress and welfare. She recalled achievements such as eradicating load shedding and unemployment during the PML-N’s previous term. Maryam Nawaz also outlined future initiatives, including efforts to provide free electricity to households consuming less than 200 units.
