National Assembly seeks Applications for Parliamentary Internship Programme 2025

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly of Pakistan is now accepting applications for its Parliamentary Internship Programme, a six-week immersive experience beginning in June 2025.

The initiative offers young graduates a unique chance to engage directly with parliament’s workings and build a deeper understanding of legislative processes.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Education: Minimum 14 years of education from a Higher Education Commission (HEC)-recognized institution.
  • Undergraduates: Students in four-year programs may apply after completing at least two years (four semesters).
  • Postgraduates: Master’s degree students are also eligible.
  • Fields of Study: Applicants from disciplines such as Law, Economics, Business & Public Administration, Finance, Commerce, HR, IT, Agriculture, Media Studies, and Social Sciences are encouraged to apply.
  • Academic Performance: Minimum 60% marks or a CGPA of 2.5 (out of 4.0).
  • Age Limit: Maximum age is 30 years.
  • Inclusion Focus: Special consideration will be given to candidates from underrepresented or remote areas like Balochistan, South Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

Internship Structure

  • Duration: Six weeks of full-time engagement, Monday to Friday, with a minimum commitment of eight hours per day.
  • Orientation: A 3–5 day training session at the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS) in Islamabad.
  • Placement: Interns will be assigned to various departments within the National Assembly.
  • Focus Areas:
    • Legislative research
    • Public policy
    • Parliamentary procedures

Intern Guidelines:

  • Minimum 85% attendance required.
  • Must follow a formal dress code.
  • Must remain non-partisan throughout the program.

  • Attested copy of CNIC/NICOP
  • Attested academic transcript or degree
  • Passport-size photograph
  • Internship letter from the applicant’s university
