Maryam Nawaz and Australian Envoy Discuss Women’s Empowerment and Agricultural Development

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz and Australia’s High Commissioner to Pakistan Neil Hawkins convened in Lahore on Wednesday, affirming their commitment to empower women and address climate change concerns.

During their meeting, both Maryam and Hawkins emphasized the significance of focusing on the agricultural sector to bolster Pakistan’s economy. They underscored the need for bilateral efforts to enhance capabilities in agriculture, recognizing its pivotal role in national development.

Maryam and Hawkins reiterated their dedication to ensuring the participation and leadership of women across all spheres of society, emphasizing the importance of gender inclusivity and empowerment.

Expressing gratitude for Hawkins’ visit, Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed her commitment to advancing the political agenda of the PML-N. She asserted that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would lead the government, highlighting the party’s recent electoral successes in Punjab.

Addressing the parliamentary party meeting of the PML-N Punjab in Lahore, Maryam acknowledged the significant representation of youth in the recent elections and underscored the importance of unity within the party.

Reflecting on the competitive political landscape in Punjab, Maryam emphasized the need for the PML-N to set new records in serving the masses and expressed her aspiration to become the first female chief minister of the country.

Recalling the achievements of Nawaz Sharif’s previous tenure, Maryam highlighted initiatives such as the introduction of the health card and vowed to launch additional healthcare facilities, including air ambulances and specialized treatment units.

In preparation for Ramadan, Maryam outlined plans to provide relief packages to approximately seven million households, demonstrating the PML-N’s commitment to addressing the needs of the people during the holy month.
