JUIF backs nationwide traders’ strike scheduled for August 28

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Jamait Ulema-e-Islam, has declared his party’s full endorsement of the nationwide traders’ strike scheduled for August 28, which falls on a Wednesday.

This announcement underscores JUI-F’s commitment to addressing the economic challenges currently facing the country.

In his statement, Maulana Fazlur Rehman criticized the prevailing economic conditions, attributing the hardships to rampant inflation and the imposition of illegal taxes. He emphasized that these factors have severely impacted the livelihoods of ordinary citizens, leading to widespread distress and financial instability.

Rehman pointed out that the current budget policies, which he claims are driven by directives from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), have exacerbated these issues.

According to him, the budgetary measures have effectively siphoned resources away from the people, further straining their already limited economic means.

Rehman assured that JUI-F is committed to ensuring the success of the strike through peaceful means. He urged JUI-F workers to actively participate in the strike, highlighting that the party’s Business Forums across the country should mobilize their efforts to support the cause.

This involvement is expected to contribute to a coordinated and impactful demonstration against the current economic policies and conditions.

By rallying behind the strike, JUI-F aims to express solidarity with traders and other affected groups, as well as to advocate for changes that could alleviate the economic burdens on the population. The party’s support reflects a broader opposition to the economic strategies currently in place and seeks to bring attention to the pressing issues of inflation and unjust taxation.

Overall, Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s endorsement of the strike serves as a significant political move, aligning JUI-F with the broader movement against economic policies perceived as detrimental to the well-being of the general populace.
