Islamabad police force has been prohibited from wearing their uniforms while off-duty

The Islamabad police have implemented new regulations prohibiting police officers from wearing their uniforms while off-duty.

The federal capital police issued these directives via wireless communication, specifying that officers are not permitted to wear uniforms while commuting to or from duty.

Uniforms are now only authorized to be worn while on active duty. Additionally, officers must be paired during duty hours and are mandated to carry their weapons at all times.

This decision was prompted by the prevailing security situation in the city, with the police department prioritizing the safety and security of both its officers and the public.

In another significant update, the Islamabad Police recently introduced a mobile application designed to bolster public safety and deter crime.

Launched under the directive of former Minister of Interior Sarfraz Akbar Bugti, the newly unveiled ICT-15 app aims to empower residents of the capital city by facilitating their active involvement in crime prevention and community well-being.

Accessible on the Google Play Store, the ICT-15 app is readily available for download and utilization by Islamabad residents, providing them with a user-friendly platform to report various concerns, including illicit activities, incidents, complaints against law enforcement, and suspicious behavior.

This intuitive application provides a platform for citizens to report diverse concerns, encompassing illegal activities, incidents, grievances against law enforcement, the presence of unauthorized residents, or any suspicious criminal behavior.

Upon submission of information through the app, the police prioritize swift response times, ensuring that assistance is promptly provided to address the reported issues.
