Government to Launch 10,000 e-Rozgar Centres to Support Freelancers Nationwide

e-Rozgar Centres

ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), has announced plans to establish approximately 10,000 e-Rozgar centres nationwide.

This ambitious project aims to facilitate freelancers by providing them with a comprehensive array of resources and support under one roof, thereby enhancing their productivity and capacity.

“E-Rozgar centres, already established by the government, are offering top-notch facilities to freelancers,” an official from the Ministry of Information Technology (IT) stated.

These centres are equipped with high-speed internet, uninterrupted power supply (UPS), training centres, individual cabins, meeting rooms, and dedicated office spaces for startups.

The infrastructure is designed to cater to the diverse needs of freelancers, providing them with an environment conducive to growth and innovation.

The IT Ministry official highlighted the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to the people.

By establishing these centres, the government aims to empower a substantial portion of the existing 1.5 million freelancers in Pakistan, along with new entrants into the freelancing market.

The provision of such facilities at minimal costs is expected to enable freelancers to work independently and more efficiently.

The official expressed optimism that the completion of this significant project would lead to a substantial increase in IT exports, projecting an annual growth of $10 billion.

The e-Rozgar centres are expected to play a crucial role in this growth by enhancing the skills and income potential of freelancers through public-private partnerships. These collaborations will ensure that the centres provide the necessary resources and support for freelancers to thrive.

In addition to the physical infrastructure, the PSEB will offer technical support to freelancers utilizing these centres. This support will include access to training and development programs designed to enhance their technical skills and marketability.

“We have taken all the required steps to build a robust digital ecosystem in Pakistan,” the official said, emphasizing the government’s comprehensive strategy to leverage all available forums to position Pakistan as a leading international technology destination.

The establishment of the e-Rozgar centres is a significant step towards realizing this vision. By providing a supportive and resource-rich environment for freelancers, the government aims to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.

This initiative is expected to not only boost the IT sector but also contribute to the broader economic development of Pakistan.

In conclusion, the government’s plan to establish 10,000 e-Rozgar centres across the country represents a major investment in the future of Pakistan’s digital economy.

By equipping freelancers with the necessary tools and support, the government is laying the foundation for sustained growth and competitiveness in the global IT market.

The project’s success will hinge on effective implementation and the continued collaboration between public and private sectors to ensure that these centres meet the evolving needs of the freelancing community.
