ISLAMABAD: Rana Sanaullah, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, emphasized the importance of resolving political matters through dialogue.
Speaking to the media, he highlighted the government’s willingness to engage in discussions with the opposition, on Saturday.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader revealed that the prime minister, with the party leadership’s consent and after consulting with the establishment, has extended an invitation to the opposition for dialogue on the floor of the house. This step aims to address the ongoing political issues through mutual understanding.
Rana Sanaullah also addressed concerns surrounding the court’s decision in the 190-million-pound case, stating that it would have no bearing on the proposed dialogue process. He reassured that the focus remains on constructive engagement to find political solutions.
He announced that the Speaker of the National Assembly has been in contact with the prime minister regarding the formation of a committee to initiate talks with the opposition.
According to him, this committee is expected to be finalized within a day or two. He further added that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) representatives have already been in touch with Speaker Ayaz Sadiq regarding the proposed discussions.
Rana Sanaullah also shared updates on a meeting held with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, describing it as productive and cordial.
He expressed optimism that the issue concerning the seminaries bill, often referred to as the “Madari law,” would be resolved amicably within the next two to four days.
He reiterated that such sensitive matters should not be addressed on the streets but rather through constructive dialogue among stakeholders.
Highlighting Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s cooperative stance, Rana Sanaullah praised his openness to discussions and his willingness to seek a peaceful resolution.
The federal adviser emphasized that the government remains committed to fostering dialogue as the primary tool for resolving political and legislative issues, ensuring stability and progress in the country.
