Etihad Airways Plans Major Expansion: Hiring 2,000 Personnel for Fleet Growth in 2025

Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways has unveiled plans to recruit up to 2,000 pilots, cabin crew, and mechanics in preparation for its expansion in 2025. The airline intends to add 15 additional planes to its fleet by 2025, prompting the need for additional personnel.

CEO of Etihad Airways, Antonoaldo Neves, stated, “We’re going to be hiring about 1,500 to 2,000 people this year to prepare for 2025.” The recruitment drive aims to meet the staffing requirements for the new planes, requiring pilots, mechanics, and flight attendants.

The expansion strategy includes increasing the number of flights, frequencies, and destinations to leverage the positive momentum observed in passenger traffic in the previous year. Etihad Airways reported a passenger load factor of 86 percent in 2023, a notable increase from 82 percent in 2022.

According to Khaleej Times, Etihad announced its financial results for 2023, disclosing a total revenue of Dh20.3 billion and a net profit of Dh525 million. The operating result stood at Dh1.4 billion, with passenger revenue contributing significantly to the airline’s growth, marking a Dh4 billion year-on-year increase.

Etihad’s robust financial performance coupled with its ambitious expansion plans reflect its commitment to further strengthening its position in the aviation industry and meeting the evolving needs of travelers globally.
