court: Bushra Bibi’s endoscopy procedure at private hospital for two days

The Islamabad Accountability Court has granted permission for the medical evaluation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Founder Imran Khan and his spouse, Bushra Bibi.

During a hearing led by Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana at Adiala Jail, a decision was reached concerning the 190 million pounds scam case.

In the court hearing, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s petitions were approved, permitting Bushra to undergo an endoscopy at a private hospital in two days. The court instructed the local authorities to oversee the procedure, ensuring it is conducted under the guidance of Dr. Asim Younus, as well as a government physician.

The judge stated that he was directing Bushra Bibi’s examinations to take place at a private healthcare facility, based on humanitarian considerations.

Imran Khan expressed worry regarding Bushra Bibi’s health, as she allegedly suffered from food poisoning caused by someone mixing toilet cleaner in her meal. He highlighted her worsening condition, experiencing daily discomfort in her stomach.

The court directed Imran Khan to abstain from conducting press conferences during court hearings, stressing the importance of maintaining the integrity and solemnity of the legal process.

Additionally, Judge Nasir Javed Rana commanded the immediate dismantling of extra walls constructed within the courtroom. He emphasized that the proceedings would not commence until these walls were removed and instructed the prison authorities to act swiftly in carrying out this directive.

In the courtroom, defense attorneys presented a concern about the challenges experienced by the media during the proceedings. The judge then invited the media representatives to the podium, inquiring about the specific difficulties they encountered throughout the hearing.

“Listening to court proceedings presents challenges,” the journalists replied. Later, the hearing was postponed until April 23rd.
