Both public and private school students will undergo screening to evaluate their vision and hearing capabilities.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved a project to supply spectacles and hearing aids to 700,000 students across the province. As part of this initiative, students in both public and private schools will undergo screening to evaluate their eyesight and hearing abilities.
Those identified as visually or hearing impaired will receive the necessary assistance in the form of spectacles or hearing aids, ensuring equitable access to education and learning opportunities.
The project has received substantial financial support from the esteemed organization AT Scale, which has committed a significant sum of Rs500 million to aid its implementation.
Recently, a delegation from AT Scale met with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore to deliberate on various aspects of the project and other relevant matters in the education sector. The discussions encompassed plans for improving internet services in schools, addressing the nutritional needs of schoolchildren, and enhancing the capabilities of school teachers.
In the meeting, the CM unveiled plans to inaugurate Punjab’s first government school for autistic children. Emphasizing her commitment to revolutionary change, Maryam underscored the necessity of embracing innovative strategies to tackle modern challenges.
“Transformational progress necessitates fresh perspectives in this new era,” Maryam emphasized, reiterating that every child deserves education aligned with global standards.
