Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari Honors Syed Ali Geelani as a ‘Symbol’ of Kashmiri Freedom
On Sunday, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari praised Syed Ali Geelani, a prominent figure in the Kashmiri struggle, on the third anniversary of his death. Geelani, often referred to as “Baba-e-Hurriyat” (father of the freedom movement), was celebrated for his steadfast resistance against Indian actions and his relentless fight for fundamental human rights, including independence.
Bhutto-Zardari commended Geelani’s unwavering commitment, stating, “Syed Ali Geelani firmly opposed Indian atrocities and his struggle for fundamental human rights is truly commendable.” He further emphasized that the ongoing peace process in the region is at risk due to the Kashmir dispute and affirmed that resolving these issues can only be achieved through the will of the Kashmiri people.
The PPP Chairman assured that his party will persist in supporting the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
