ISLAMABAD: The process of consultation among the coalition parties to appoint a caretaker prime minister has gained momentum as the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) has formed a committee to discuss and nominate a candidate.
The BAP committee includes Parliamentary leader Khalid Magsi and Senator Manzoor Kakar. Who will consult with the party leadership and propose a caretaker prime minister’s name to the committee.
Earlier, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah stated that the Assembly would be dissolved on the night of 9th August. He assured that elections would not be manipulated or influenced for any ulterior motive. Sanaullah clarified that the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) did not nominate Ishaq Dar.
He emphasizes that all parties agreed the caretaker prime minister should be a politician. Suggested that the names of Ishaq Dar from the PML-N and Raza Rabbani from the PPP could also be considered.
It is important to note that the PML-N had considered Ishaq Dar as a potential caretaker prime minister. Dar, the current finance minister and a close ally of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, was considered for the role.
Currently, the PML-N is engaging in discussions with its allies in the ruling coalition to find a consensus on the candidate for caretaker Prime Minister. However, the PPP has strongly opposed the nomination of Ishaq Dar.
