At least 10 people were injured when gunmen opened fire on passenger bus in Bannu

Early this morning, a passenger coach traveling from Islamabad to Bannu was attacked by armed robbers near Dara Tang. The incident took place around 3 AM when the assailants attempted to stop the vehicle. When the driver refused to comply, the attackers opened fire on the coach.

As a result of the shooting, ten passengers were injured and were quickly taken to a local hospital in Lakki Marwat for medical treatment. Authorities have confirmed that an investigation is currently underway to apprehend the attackers and ascertain the details of the incident.

This attack follows a recent shooting on the Indus Highway near Naper Kot, where armed robbers targeted another passenger coach. That incident resulted in the death of one passenger and injuries to three others. The deceased was taken to Khanpur Hospital, while the injured received immediate medical attention.

The coach was en route from Karachi to Kashmore at the time of the attack, prompting passengers to protest on the highway, which led to traffic disruptions as the gunmen fled into rural areas.

In a separate incident on October 10, a traffic accident on the M-9 Motorway near Bolari claimed three lives.

According to the Motorway Police spokesperson, the accident occurred when a car traveling from Hyderabad to Karachi lost control after a tire blew out. The vehicle crashed into a barrier, overturned, and subsequently caught fire, resulting in the tragic deaths of two women and one man inside.

These incidents highlight ongoing concerns about safety for travelers on both roads and public transport in the region. Authorities continue to seek measures to enhance security and prevent such attacks in the future.
