ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced version 5.6.6 of the PakID mobile application. The latest update brings new digital identity features and expands access to important public services.
The upgraded app aims to make identity management easier for citizens. Moreover, it supports Pakistanโs ongoing efforts to improve digital governance through convenient online services.
New โView Cardโ Feature Improves Application Accuracy
One of the most important additions is the new View Card feature. It allows applicants to preview a digital version of their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) or National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).
Users can carefully review the card before submitting their applications. As a result, they can quickly spot spelling mistakes or incorrect personal information.
If an error appears, applicants can return to the relevant section and update their details. Consequently, this feature may reduce application delays caused by inaccurate data.
The visual preview also helps users submit correct information on their first attempt. Therefore, the overall application process becomes smoother and more efficient.
Civil Registration Services Expand in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
In addition to identity services, NADRA has expanded its Civil Registration Services through the PakID application in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Citizens can now register important life events directly from their smartphones. These services include birth registration, death registration, marriage registration, and divorce registration.
This digital system reduces the need for repeated office visits. Furthermore, it offers greater convenience for residents who prefer completing official tasks online.
Services Initially Available in Peshawar
NADRA has started the rollout in phases to ensure a smooth implementation. Currently, Civil Registration Services are available across all Village and Neighborhood Councils in the Peshawar district.
After completing this phase, the authority plans to extend the service to other districts throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This gradual expansion will help maintain service quality while reaching more citizens.
NADRA Invites Public Feedback
Alongside the latest update, NADRA has encouraged users to share their opinions about the PakID application.
The authority is collecting suggestions for future improvements. Users can recommend new features, integrations, and digital tools that could enhance the mobile platform.
This feedback-driven approach reflects NADRA’s focus on improving user experience. Additionally, it allows future updates to better meet the needs of citizens.
Digital Services Continue to Expand
The latest PakID update strengthens Pakistan’s digital identity system by offering more practical and accessible online services.
With the new CNIC preview feature and expanded Civil Registration Services, citizens can complete essential government-related tasks more efficiently. As NADRA continues introducing new digital solutions, the PakID app is expected to play an even greater role in delivering secure and convenient public services.
