The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has clarified how parents can obtain a child’s B-Form without the mother’s Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC). The process depends on whether the mother previously obtained an identity card or never registered for one.
The clarification addresses confusion among parents seeking a Child Registration Certificate (CRC), commonly known as a B-Form.
What If the Mother’s CNIC Is Missing?
NADRA Public Information Officer Syed Shabahat Ali explained that parents can still apply if the mother previously obtained a CNIC but cannot present the physical card.
In such cases, NADRA officials can verify her identity through her CNIC number or biometric authentication. This includes fingerprint verification.
Therefore, parents may proceed without the physical card if NADRA can verify the mother’s identity.
When the Mother Has Never Obtained a CNIC
The process becomes more complicated if the mother has never registered for a CNIC.
NADRA explained that missing documents and incomplete family records can delay the application. For example, authorities may not have the parents’ marriage details in their records.
Some families may also lack a family registration number. Parents must address these documentation issues before completing the child’s registration.
How to Get a Replacement B-Form
Parents can also apply for a replacement B-Form if their child loses the original document.
They can visit a nearby NADRA Registration Centre or use the Pak ID mobile application to submit an application.
NADRA charges Rs50 for a normal application and Rs500 for an executive application.
Keep Family Registration Records Updated
NADRA’s clarification highlights the importance of accurate identity and family records. Parents should keep their documents updated to avoid unnecessary delays when registering their children. Understanding the application requirements can also help families resolve documentation issues before they apply for a B-Form.
