Authorities Strengthen Road Safety Measures Across Murree
The City Traffic Police Murree has stepped up its campaign against motorists driving without valid licenses. The initiative aims to improve road safety and encourage responsible driving across the hill station.
The operation follows directions from Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Punjab Muhammad Waqas Nazir. Meanwhile, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Murree Munir Ahmed Hashmi is supervising the campaign to ensure strict enforcement of traffic regulations.
Traffic officials have increased inspections on major roads and busy routes throughout Murree. As a result, officers are checking motorists daily to identify those driving without legal documents. The authorities have already issued hundreds of challans to motorcyclists and other drivers who violated traffic laws. In addition, legal action is being taken against repeat and serious offenders.
Daily Inspections Target Traffic Violations
According to a traffic police spokesperson, officers have established routine checkpoints at important locations across the city. These inspections focus on preventing unlicensed driving and improving overall traffic discipline.
The spokesperson reminded motorists that driving without a valid license is a legal offense. Drivers should also carry their original driving licenses whenever they travel. This practice helps authorities verify documents quickly during routine inspections. Furthermore, it promotes responsible driving habits among road users.
Traffic officials believe strict enforcement can reduce accidents caused by inexperienced or unauthorized drivers. Therefore, they continue to monitor traffic activity and take immediate action against violations.
Public Urged to Follow Traffic Rules
Chief Traffic Officer Munir Ahmed Hashmi urged residents and visitors to cooperate with traffic authorities. He emphasized that every driver should obtain a valid driving license before operating any vehicle or motorcycle.
He also encouraged motorists to respect traffic laws at all times. Responsible driving not only prevents legal penalties but also protects everyone using the roads. Moreover, carrying the required documents can make roadside inspections faster and more efficient.
The ongoing campaign reflects the traffic police’s commitment to safer roads in Murree. Authorities will continue inspections and enforcement efforts to discourage unlicensed driving. By following traffic rules and carrying valid licenses, motorists can help create a safer environment for themselves and other road users.
