RAWALPINDI: A 15-year-old Hindu girl who was reportedly kidnapped from Rawalpindi was safely recovered from Haripur during a swift operation conducted by Murree police, officials said on Tuesday.
According to police authorities, the recovery was made within 24 hours of the reported abduction. Officials described the case as a significant challenge due to the victimโs age and the urgency of ensuring her safety.
Following the incident, Murree police formed special investigation teams under the supervision of senior officers. The teams launched an extensive search operation and used multiple investigative methods to trace the girl’s whereabouts.
Police said they relied on CCTV footage, geo-fencing technology and human intelligence to track the suspects and locate the victim. As a result, officers successfully recovered the girl from Haripur and ensured her safe return.
District Police Officer (DPO) Murree praised the efforts of the investigation teams and said the operation demonstrated the forceโs professional capabilities and commitment to public safety.
The DPO stated that timely information provided by the girlโs parents played a crucial role in the success of the operation. He added that the immediate response by police helped prevent further complications and accelerated the recovery process.
Furthermore, the police chief confirmed that the rescued girl would be presented before the court in accordance with legal procedures. Authorities will continue legal proceedings to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged kidnapping.
