Police arrested 25 hardened criminals during a major crackdown in Muridke, officials announced on Friday. The operation also led to the recovery of machinery, motorcycles, and other valuables. Authorities estimated the recovered property at nearly Rs 10 million.
City police returned all recovered items to their rightful owners. Meanwhile, officers also seized five kilograms of hashish and 1,100 grams of another narcotic substance. Additionally, police arrested four suspects during the anti-drug operation.
Police Recover Cash, Weapons and Stolen Property
In a separate operation, police arrested five more suspects involved in criminal activities. Officers also recovered Rs 1.4 million in cash from their possession. Furthermore, the operation targeted individuals linked to organised crime in the area.
Police also apprehended several proclaimed offenders and suspected dacoits during the crackdown. Officers recovered 11 pistols and two Kalashnikov rifles from the arrested suspects. Consequently, authorities believe the operation disrupted multiple criminal networks operating in Muridke.
SHO Vows Zero Tolerance Against Crime
Station House Officer Muridke Ghazanfar Aziz Bhatti addressed a press conference after the successful operation. He reaffirmed the police’s commitment to maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against criminals. Moreover, he pledged to continue intelligence-based operations across the city.
Bhatti said the recent crackdown dismantled an active criminal network. He added that effective policing has improved public safety in the area. Therefore, residents now feel more secure following the successful operation against criminal elements.
