KARACHI: The father of 25-year-old Mir Raza Ali has denied reports linking his son to cryptocurrency or digital currency trading following his alleged murder in Karachi.
Mir Raza, a graduate of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), returned home from his shop on the night of July 28. However, he left again shortly afterward, telling his family that he would return within 10 minutes.
Later, police recovered his body from bushes in Block 1 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the killing and identify those responsible.
Speaking to Karachi Nama, Mir Raza’s father strongly rejected speculation that his son was involved in cryptocurrency-related activities. He said there was no truth to such reports and challenged anyone making those claims to produce credible evidence.
Moreover, he urged people to avoid spreading unverified information that could mislead the public and cause additional distress to the grieving family.
The victim’s father also suggested that jealousy could have been the motive behind the murder. According to him, Mir Raza had established a successful business, and his professional achievements may have attracted envy from others.
Furthermore, he said the family wants a transparent investigation to uncover the real reasons behind the killing. He expressed hope that law enforcement agencies would identify those involved and ensure they face justice.
Meanwhile, police continue collecting evidence and examining all possible motives behind the incident. Investigators have not officially confirmed any connection between the victim and cryptocurrency trading.
The case has drawn public attention, while the family continues to reject speculation surrounding Mir Raza’s personal and professional life. Authorities have yet to release further details as the investigation remains ongoing.
