Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has responded to claims made by her former fiancé, PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar, about money and gifts. The actress said her legal dispute does not concern cash, cars or expensive presents. Instead, she maintains that she approached authorities over alleged harassment, threats and cyberbullying.
Momina previously contacted the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) regarding the alleged abuse. Authorities later registered a case against Chadhar under relevant provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act and Pakistan Penal Code.
Dispute Continues Amid New Developments
The case has seen several developments in recent months. In July, an NCCIA official told a Lahore court that investigators had found Chadhar responsible for the allegations.
However, the agency issued fresh notices to both parties on September 3 after receiving new digital evidence. Additionally, authorities formed a special investigation team to examine the matter further.
Meanwhile, Chadhar recently discussed his relationship with Momina during an interview with Hina Niazi. He claimed that he gave her Rs8 million in cash.
He also claimed that he gifted her a Toyota Fortuner and Honda Civic. Furthermore, he said he helped finance her sister’s education in Australia.
Actress Says Gifts Are Not the Issue
Momina has now rejected the focus on financial exchanges and gifts. According to the actress, such matters do not explain why she filed the case.
She said the alleged harassment affected her social media presence. Consequently, she stopped making TikTok videos because of what she described as dirty and inappropriate comments.
Moreover, Momina said she deleted Snapchat after Chadhar’s wife allegedly made offensive remarks there.
The actress also said she remains unaware of Chadhar’s current personal circumstances. She explained that she did not know whether he and his wife remained together or had separated.
Legal Proceedings Remain Ongoing
Momina recalled hearing about Chadhar’s kidney-related issue during the election period. However, she said she learned about other details only after her own case began.
Meanwhile, the legal dispute remains under investigation. Chadhar and his wife previously secured interim pre-arrest bail after the NCCIA registered a case following Momina’s complaint.
Both sides have presented their respective accounts, while authorities continue examining the allegations and available digital evidence.
