KARACHI: Pakistani television actor publicly alleged that she has faced prolonged online harassment, cyberbullying and death threats, claiming the situation has caused severe emotional distress for both her and her family.
In a series of posts shared on Instagram, the actor stated that an individual allegedly linked to the political party had been threatening her for an extended period. Although she did not directly reveal the identity of the accused, Momina claimed the person was a sitting Member of the Provincial Assembly.
The actor further alleged that despite repeatedly approaching the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency and the, authorities failed to take meaningful action regarding her complaints.
Meanwhile, Momina Iqbal accused certain individuals associated with the Punjab chief ministerโs office of attempting to suppress the matter instead of ensuring a transparent and impartial investigation. According to her, the threats against her family intensified after she decided to pursue legal action and speak publicly about the alleged harassment campaign.
Appealing directly to the authorities, the television star demanded immediate protection for her family, a fair inquiry into the allegations and strict legal action against those involved. She stressed that the matter should be handled transparently to ensure accountability and justice.
Furthermore, Momina warned that if authorities continue to ignore the issue, she may hold a press conference and release evidence connected to the alleged intimidation and cyber harassment campaign.
The allegations sparked discussion on social media, where several users expressed concern over online abuse, cyber threats and the safety of public figures in Pakistanโs entertainment industry.
