Pakistan’s renowned F-Class long-range shooter and sports psychologist Mohsin Nawaz has pledged to strengthen the mental preparedness of athletes nationwide. He believes psychological development must become a key element in Pakistan’s efforts to achieve success at major international sporting events.
Mohsin, who served as Pakistan’s first official Sports Psychologist at the 6th World Nomad Games 2026, is promoting a comprehensive approach to athlete development. The Tamgha-e-Imtiaz recipient advocates combining mental conditioning with physical training to enhance performance.
Mental Training Key to International Success
According to Mohsin, Pakistani athletes possess immense talent but require structured mental preparation to maximize their potential. He stressed that proper psychological support can help competitors convert ability into medal-winning performances.
His framework focuses on pressure management, anxiety reduction, goal setting, visualization techniques, and simulated-pressure training. These methods allow athletes to experience competition-like conditions during practice and improve focus, confidence, and composure.
Mohsin explained that athletes should learn how to manage pressure instead of trying to eliminate it completely. He noted that practical mental tools help competitors remain focused on execution during high-stakes events.
Drawing from his experience in F-Class long-range shooting, Mohsin emphasized the importance of concentration and emotional control. He said these qualities often determine success in elite-level competition.
National Initiative for Sports Development
Mohsin’s international profile includes serving as a Brand Ambassador for Kahles Optics and Peregrine Bullets. He also maintains a significant association with HawkSmith Gun & Sporting Club.
Supporting his vision, Mohsin highlighted a strategic initiative being developed with HawkSmith to establish premium sports and shooting facilities in Pakistan. The project aims to encourage a professional sporting culture and create modern development pathways for young athletes.
He also urged sports federations and coaches to adopt psychological assessments, athlete profiling, and team-building programmes. Through continuous mental conditioning, Mohsin believes Pakistani athletes can compete internationally with greater resilience, confidence, and focus.
