Mehwish Hayat has increased excitement around her upcoming drama Rutba with fresh glimpses of her character Sheelli. The actress shared a promotional poster featuring herself alongside Talha Chahour. She described the drama as a story where “status, principles and ambition” collide.
Mehwish also introduced the central characters, Hadi and Sheelli, while confirming that Rutba will premiere on October 6.
Mehwish Hayat Highlights Sheelli
The actress later shared another promotional post marking five days until the premiere.
In the post, Mehwish highlighted Sheelli’s commanding presence and hinted that power can change everything within the drama’s world.
The poster carries the tagline, “With power, nothing stays the same.” It also confirms that the drama will air every Monday and Tuesday at 8pm on ARY Digital.
So far, the promotional campaign has revealed little about Sheelli’s background or motivations. Instead, the teasers continue to build curiosity around power, ambition and social status.
Umera Ahmed and Haseeb Hassan Join Forces
Rutba has also attracted attention because of its creative team.
The drama is written by acclaimed writer Umera Ahmed and directed by Haseeb Hassan. Their collaboration has added further interest as viewers wait to discover how the story develops. The cast includes Mehwish Hayat, Talha Chahour, Hiba Bukhari, Zahid Ahmed and other performers.
For Mehwish, the project also marks her return to television with a major new drama.
In an earlier promotional post, she discussed bringing Umera Ahmed’s writing to life under Haseeb Hassan’s direction. With the October 6 premiere approaching, Mehwish’s countdown posts are keeping Sheelli at the centre of the drama’s promotional campaign.
