PDMA Warns Upper Punjab of Heavy Rains

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a warning concerning heavy rains and landslides in Upper Punjab until June 6th. Residents of Murree and Galyat have been advised to brace themselves for potential landslides, given the high likelihood of thunder and lightning.

Responding to the alert, the district administration has been placed on high alert, with DGPDMA Irfan Ali Kathia instructing officials to maintain constant vigilance. PDMA has cautioned citizens against venturing into open spaces during thunderstorms and urged them to stay updated on weather forecasts.

This alert coincides with forecasts of heavy rains in Upper Punjab, posing significant risks to lives and property. PDMA has assured its readiness to respond to any emergency and directed district administrations to implement necessary precautions.

Citizens are urged to prioritize safety and avoid exposure to open areas during adverse weather conditions.

Meanwhile, tragedy struck in Khushab, where two brothers succumbed to lightning strikes. In response, the DG PDMA extended condolences and offered financial support to the bereaved family.
