Türkiye condemns the BLA’s terrorist attacks in Balochistan

Türkiye has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that took place today, August 26, in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.

“We vehemently denounce the terrorist attack that occurred in Pakistan’s Balochistan province today (August 26). We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and pray for Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives,” stated the Turkish Foreign Ministry on Monday.

The statement further emphasized, “Türkiye stands in full solidarity with the friendly and brotherly government and people of Pakistan in their fight against terrorism.”

Background:

In one of the deadliest attacks in southwestern Pakistan, terrorists fatally shot 23 passengers in Balochistan province on Monday morning. The assailants identified their victims before taking them from buses, vehicles, and trucks in the Musakhail district, according to senior police official Ayub Achakzai.

The attackers also set at least 10 vehicles on fire before fleeing the scene. This attack followed a warning issued by the BLA terror group, advising people to avoid the highways, though no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Meanwhile, At least 10 soldiers from the security forces and four personnel from law enforcement agencies were martyred in Balochistan, while 21 terrorists were killed during clearance operations following a series of militant attacks in the Musa Khel, Kalat, and Lasbela districts on Sunday night.

The military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), released this information on Monday.

According to the ISPR, the terrorists initiated a coordinated series of attacks late Sunday night, which persisted into the early hours of Monday.

These acts of terrorism were described as attempts by hostile forces to disrupt the peace and development in Balochistan, with a particular focus on targeting innocent civilians in the Musa Khel, Kalat, and Lasbela districts.

In one of the most heinous attacks in the Musa Khel district, terrorists intercepted a bus in the Rara Sham area.

They maliciously singled out and killed at least 23 people, most of whom were civilians working in Balochistan to earn their livelihood.

The terrorists also targeted Levies and police stations in Mastung, Kalat, Pasni, and Suntsar, according to reports from the media.

Additionally, there were reports of explosions and grenade attacks in various other regions, including Sibi, Panjgur, Mastung, Turbat, Bela, and Quetta.

The ISPR stated that security forces and law enforcement agencies responded immediately to these attacks, successfully thwarting the terrorists’ plans.

In the ensuing clearance operations, 21 terrorists were killed, ensuring the security and protection of the local population.
