Tragic Fire Claims Nine Lives, Including Women and Children, as House Collapses in Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD: A tragic incident occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Abbottabad, where a fire tore through a house, resulting in the deaths of nine people, including women and children.

The intensity of the fire caused the collapse of the house, leading to the fatalities. As of now, seven bodies have been recovered, and the search for two more individuals is underway.

The cause of the fire has not been determined as of the initial reports. This incident highlights the urgent need for fire safety measures to prevent such tragedies and protect lives.

FIA Apprehends Suspect for Distributing Fraudulent Degrees

In another development, the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) has arrested a suspect in Sector F-10 for allegedly distributing fraudulent degrees. The FIA team discovered printed degrees, certificates, fake university stamps, and admission forms in the possession of the accused during the arrest. The investigations are ongoing, with more revelations expected.

The suspect, identified as Amin, was allegedly running a fraudulent international council, offering MD degrees for $1,000 and PhD degrees for $1,500.

The arrest was ordered by the Deputy Director of Anti-Corruption Circle, Islamabad, Afzal Khan Niazi, and Amin conducted his unlawful operations through different agents.

It was revealed that Sheikh Akhtar Hussain, the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), had acquired a degree from Amin’s fraudulent operation.

Sheikh Akhtar Hussain was arrested in connection with a fake degree case, as his Ph.D. degree was found to be fake by the Sri Lankan Interpol, as the degree-awarding institution was not recognized.

The investigations into the fraudulent degree distribution operation are ongoing, and the arrest of Amin is expected to lead to further revelations.
