ISLAMABAD: On Tuesday, three prominent women politicians from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have departed from their political party and joined the Jahangir Tareen-led Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP)
Three PTI women leaders, including Andleeb Abbas, Sadia Sohail, and Sumaira Bokhari, have declared their decision to join IPP after a meeting with Patron-in-Chief Jahangir Tareen today. Aun Chaudhry was also present during the meeting.
Andleeb Abbas, speaking to journalists, emphasized that no political party or personality is greater than the national cause. She highlighted the challenging political and economic situation in Pakistan and its direct connection to the well-being of the common citizens.
Abbas stated their commitment to moving forward, leaving behind their past affiliations, with a clear objective of working for the betterment of the common people.
Sadia Sohail added that they have prioritized national interests over political party affiliations and are dedicated to helping the people overcome their difficulties.
A few days ago, former federal minister Farrukh Habib had announced his departure from PTI and his entry into IPP. He had been one of the founding members of PTI’s student wing, the Insaf Student Federation (ISF), and had served as the minister of state for information in Imran Khan’s cabinet.
Habib made this announcement during a press conference at the IPP’s head office in Lahore, alongside the party’s top leadership. It is anticipated that Habib will assume a significant role within IPP.
