ISLAMABAD: Dhamyal Police Station has registered a case following a complaint by Highway Police Officer Tariq Iqbal regarding an incident where armed robbers looted three individuals from a stranded vehicle, escaping with Rs. 317,000 and three mobile phones.
The robbery occurred near the Motorway Islamabad Toll Plaza when the victims’ vehicle broke down. The robbers approached the occupants, held them at gunpoint, and stole Rs. 317,000 and three mobile phones.
Patrol Officer Tariq Iqbal from the Motorway Police filed the complaint that led to the case registration at Dhamyal Police Station.
According to the case report, Timur Sultan, along with two companions, was traveling to Lahore when their vehicle broke down. While waiting on the roadside, two armed robbers confronted them. At gunpoint, the robbers took their cash and mobile phones.
In his statement, Timur Sultan recounted how the robbers suddenly appeared, brandished their weapons, and took Rs. 317,000 and three mobile phones from the three individuals.
Furthermore, the case report detailed that the robbers also seized the vehicle’s registration book, the occupants’ identity cards, and four ATM cards. The robbers then instructed the victims to walk to the Toll Plaza instead of continuing to Lahore.
The police have launched an investigation into the armed robbery and are working to apprehend the culprits.
