Supreme Court Investigates Leaked Picture of Imran Khan During NAB Amendments Hearing

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court administration has initiated an investigation into a viral photo of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. The image surfaced during proceedings on amendments to the NAB laws, which have been a contentious issue in the country’s political landscape.

In the photo, Khan is seen wearing a light blue shirt. The picture appears to have been taken with a mobile phone, capturing his image as displayed on a laptop screen. This incident occurred while he was appearing via video link before the Supreme Court in a significant case concerning amendments to the National Accountability Ordinance, 1999, the legislative framework governing the National Accountability Bureau, the country’s principal anti-corruption body.

According to sources, the Supreme Court has directed officials to thoroughly review the CCTV footage of the courtroom to identify the individual responsible for leaking the photo. This breach is a serious violation of courtroom protocol, as taking and disseminating photographs during court proceedings is strictly prohibited.

The authorities have emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of court activities. Consequently, the police are expected to take stringent action against the person responsible for circulating the image.

Furthermore, it has been reported that the visibility of the PTI founder’s video feed in court has been reduced following the viral dissemination of the photo. This measure appears to be an attempt to prevent further breaches of privacy and to ensure that such incidents do not recur.

The case involving amendments to the National Accountability Ordinance continues to attract significant attention, reflecting the ongoing political and legal challenges in the country. The Supreme Court’s actions underscore the importance of upholding the rule of law and the sanctity of judicial proceedings.
