Six Killed, Including Four Customs Officials, in Gun Attack in DI Khan

On Thursday, a tragic incident unfolded in the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the loss of six lives, including four Customs officials. According to reports from the police, unidentified assailants launched a deadly attack on the Customs officials along the Sago Road in Daraban tehsil.

The assailants, concealed in bushes, ambushed the Customs vehicle, opening fire before swiftly fleeing the scene on motorcycles. This brazen attack left the driver, a civilian, and four Customs personnel dead. Tragically, the chaos ensuing from the assault caused the Customs vehicle to veer out of control, leading to a collision with another vehicle which claimed the life of an innocent bystander.

The bodies of the victims were promptly transported to the district headquarters hospital (DHQ) by rescue ambulances. In the aftermath of the attack, law enforcement agencies swiftly cordoned off the site, commencing investigations and gathering crucial forensic evidence to identify the perpetrators.

Expressing profound condemnation and sorrow, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur mourned the loss of the Customs officials and the civilian. He extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and urged law enforcement officers to take decisive action to bring those responsible to justice.

The heinous nature of this attack underscores the persistent security challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in the region. Such acts of violence not only claim innocent lives but also instill fear and disrupt peace within communities. It is imperative for authorities to intensify efforts to combat such criminal activities and ensure the safety and security of citizens and officials alike.

In the wake of this tragic event, the resolve to uphold the rule of law and protect the lives of citizens must remain unwavering. Through collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies and the community, it is essential to thwart the menace of terrorism and uphold the values of peace and stability in the region.
