Six friends given to police on remand to probe death of their friend who fell from 17th floor of a building in DHA Karachi

According to FIR, Adil fell from the 17th floor of the the building and all his friends fled from there instead of taking Adil to hospital for treatment.

KARACHI: A Judicial Magistrate gave a 2-day remand of six friends to police to probe the death of a youth who fell from 17th floor of a high-rising building in DHA Karachi and died on the spot.

The suspects were presented in the court of Judicial Magistrate South-V from where the police got their remand. All these suspects pushed their friend from the 17th floor of the building during a party.

Adil Masood, 26, a business graduate was thrown down from the 17th floor of a building in DHA Phase-VIII early morning on Sunday.

Sahil Police in Karachi have registered an FIR No: 86/22 under section 322 (punishment for qatl-bis-sabab) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). Sister of the deceased lodged the FIR against six friends of the deceased, Adil Masood.

The complainant told the police that she was in Lahore and Hammad, a close friend of Adil, informed her that Adil has sustained serious injuries in an accident and he was in the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for treatment.

She further informed the police that when she was told about the death of her brother, she rushed to Karachi.

The complainant said that Adil and his friends _ Syed Muhammad Ammar, Usman Ahmed, Muhammad Awais, Aziz Ahmed, Ahmed Jameel, and Syed Khizer got an apartment on rent for a day for Rs 25,000 in DHA Phase-VIII.

She said her brother, Adil fell from the 17th floor of the the building and all his friends fled from there instead of taking Adil to hospital for treatment.

The complainant said that her brother was thrown down from the 17th floor by his friends, resultantly, he died there.

A senior Medico-Legal Officer (MLO) at JPMC Dr Riginder Kumar issued the death certificate on the basis of a physical examination of the body. Adul’s skull was fractured and right arm and a leg were broken.

Police claimed that a group of friends arranged a party on Saturday night at a rented apartment which led to this tragedy. According to police, the suspects consumed drugs whole night.

Khan said police also recovered drugs from the flat during inspection of the crime scene.
