Day of Mourning
ISLAMABAD: On Sunday, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Sirajul Haq declared February 8 as a “day of mourning” for all political parties.
Sharing his views in Lahore, Haq criticized the 75-year dominance of three political parties and the military, highlighting the current economic challenges, injustice, violence, inflation, and the decline of the agricultural and industrial sectors in the country.
He accused the ruling elite of prioritizing personal wealth and properties while in power, emphasizing the need for self-accountability.
Haq expressed his readiness for scrutiny and called on Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, and Shehbaz Sharif to be prepared for self-accountability as well.
Haq, in a Peshawar convention, condemned political opponents, asserting that the rulers are perpetuating the “legacy” of the East India Company. He criticized the PPP and PML-N for their repeated terms in power and highlighted the burden of loans imposed on the masses.
Haq urged the public to vote for his party in the upcoming general elections, emphasizing the importance of breaking away from the legacy of the current political establishment.
