PESHAWAR: According to the police, a powerful blast occurred in the Ali Masjid area of Khyber, resulting in the serious martyrdom of Additional Station House Officer (SHO) Adnan Afridi. Rescue teams have been sent to the site, and law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the blast area.
According to the Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), the incident appears to be a suicide blast. Police reported that a suicide blast took place inside a mosque in the Gharuba area. Initial reports suggest that when the Additional SHO confronted the suspicious individual, the person fled and sought refuge inside the mosque, subsequently detonating explosives.
Moreover, the building of the mosque collapsed due to the blast. However, it was empty at the time of the incident, an eye-witnesses said.
As a response, security forces are actively working to secure the area to ensure the safety of the surroundings. Further investigations are underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the tragic event and to gather more detailed information about the incident.
Four People Including 3 Cops Martyred And Ten Injured In A Suicide Attack In Barra Bazar
Earlier, a tragic suicide attack occurred in KP’s Khyber district, specifically in the Barra Bazar area on Thursday. It resulted in the martyrdom of four people including three police constables and caused injuries to ten other individuals.
The explosion took place at the front gate of the Tehsil Compound office in Barra Bazar. Gunshots were also heard in the vicinity. In response to the incident, bomb disposal squads have been deployed to ensure the safety and security of the area.
Emergency response teams and law enforcement agencies rushed to the scene to provide medical assistance to the injured and secure the area.
The injured were taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment. A comprehensive investigation has been launched to identify the perpetrators behind this devastating attack. Besides this, all necessary resources are being deployed to ensure a thorough examination of the incident.
