BALOCHISTAN: In a tragic incident, seven teenage girls drowned in the Kech River in Turbat, while two others were rescued. The girls had gone for a picnic and were swimming in the river when they encountered trouble. The Chief Minister of Balochistan expressed regret over the loss and conveyed his condolences to their families.
One of them got caught in deep waters and drowned, prompting her friends to try to save her, but unfortunately, they were unsuccessful. Only two girls could be rescued, while the other seven lost their lives. The victims’ ages ranged from 10 to 17. They have been identified as Fiza, Faiza, Mahtap, Durdana, Bushra, Shireen, and Mahzeb.
Local Turbat residents came together to recover the bodies and transported them to the hospital. After the necessary procedures, the bodies were handed over to their respective families. The two girls who were rescued are now in stable condition and out of danger.
Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, expressed deep regret over the incident. He also extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. He directed the district administration to provide full support to the affected families and offer all necessary assistance during this difficult time.
