Lahore Incident
A disturbing incident unfolded on Lahore’s Canal Road near the Beijing Underpass when private security guards, assigned to protect foreign guests, opened fire on a citizen’s car for not giving way.
The shocking act of violence occurred on Thursday, leaving the victim, Imran, traumatized and raising serious concerns about public safety and the misuse of security forces.
Imran, a clothing trader, was driving when the security guards signaled him to give way. When he failed to do so, the guards opened fire, with one bullet striking the bonnet of his car and causing the radiator to burst.
The guards then physically assaulted Imran before attempting to flee the scene. However, Imran displayed remarkable courage and managed to stop one of the attackers. In retaliation, he was struck with a rifle butt, while the other guards quickly fled the scene.
Imran recalled the terrifying experience, stating, “They stopped me below the bridge and fired a direct shot at my car. A guard was about to fire a second shot aimed directly at me, but bystanders intervened and began recording videos, which forced the attackers to escape.”
Following the incident, Lahore police responded swiftly. DIG Operations Faisal Kamran took immediate notice and ordered the registration of a case against the suspects under the Anti-Terrorism Act. The authorities arrested four security guards and confiscated their weapons and vehicles.

A case was officially registered on Friday at the Mughalpura Police Station, where Imran detailed the horrifying events. He explained how the guards first fired shots and then physically assaulted him.
The police confirmed that efforts are underway to locate other individuals involved, including a police official allegedly linked to the incident.
This incident has sparked outrage among the public, raising questions about the conduct of private security personnel and the safety of ordinary citizens.
The police have also launched an investigation into the security company responsible for hiring the guards, with potential legal action pending.
The swift action by law enforcement has been praised, but citizens continue to demand stricter regulations on private security personnel to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
