Saudi Crown Prince Reaffirms Commitment to Stand by Pakistan in Meeting with COAS Munir

On Wednesday, Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed a desire to bolster bilateral relations with Pakistan, as conveyed in a press release from the military’s media wing.

The statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) followed a meeting between Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir and other senior military officials with the Saudi Crown Prince during his second official visit to Pakistan.

During the meeting, COAS Munir engaged in discussions on a wide range of topics of mutual interest with the Saudi leadership, including regional peace and security, as well as bilateral defense and security cooperation.

Prince Salman emphasized the deep-rooted brotherly ties and strong historical relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, affirming the unwavering support both nations have consistently provided to each other.

In response, COAS Munir extended gratitude to the Saudi leadership for their warm sentiments and continued support for Pakistan.

This visit marks COAS Munir’s second official trip to Saudi Arabia, aimed at further enhancing the longstanding ties between the two countries.

Recently, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the ongoing efforts to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia, following a conversation with the Saudi Crown Prince.

The relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan spans various dimensions, including economic cooperation, strategic military collaboration, and shared Islamic heritage.

Historically, Saudi Arabia has been a significant source of economic aid and energy supplies for Pakistan, fostering a strong foundation for their partnership.

Their military cooperation extends to defense collaboration, joint training exercises, and shared security interests.

Over time, this relationship has evolved to encompass broader diplomatic cooperation, regional stability initiatives, and mutual support on international platforms.

This evolution signifies a deepening of their partnership, reflecting a comprehensive alignment of interests not only in traditional areas but also in counterterrorism efforts, regional security, and diplomatic endeavors.
