JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah disclosed the expiration date for Umrah visas for foreign pilgrims, aligning with preparations to welcome Hajj pilgrims in the coming months.
As reported by the Saudi Gazette, the ministry announced that the expiration date for Umrah visas has been adjusted from Dhul Qadah 29 to Dhul Qadah 15. Consequently, foreign Umrah pilgrims are required to depart the country before Dhul Qadah 15.
This adjustment is part of the government’s efforts to facilitate the smooth influx of pilgrims to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah from across the globe for the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
Additionally, the ministry clarified that the three-month validity period of the Umrah visa will commence from the date of issuance, departing from the previous practice of validity from the entry date into Saudi Arabia.
This clarification follows numerous inquiries received via X, formerly known as Twitter.
The ministry specified that the Umrah visa remains valid for three months from its issuance date, with an expiration date no later than Dhul Qadah 15. This arrangement is the result of coordination between the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The new expiration date of Dhul Qadah 15 was approved, marking a two-week (14-day) adjustment from the previously announced Dhul Qadah 29,” added the Ministry.
