Saudi Arabia announces bid to host FIFA World Cup 2034, aspiring the football glory

ISLAMABAD: Shortly after FIFA opened bids for countries in the Asia and Oceania regions, Saudi Arabia promptly announced its intention to host the FIFA World Cup in 2034.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) is leading the bid, with the goal of delivering an exceptional tournament. Their inspiration comes from Saudi Arabia’s ongoing social and economic transformation, as well as its profound passion for football.

FIFA World Cup

FIFA’s designation of Morocco, Spain, and Portugal as the hosts for the 2030 World Cup, with Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay hosting the opening matches to mark the tournament’s centenary, has led to this announcement.

The decision by FIFA to host the 2034 World Cup in the Asia or Oceania region has received warm support from Asian Football Confederation president Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa. He views it as a significant step towards offering all confederations an equal opportunity to bid for and host this prestigious football event.

Saudi Arabia’s bid for the 2034 World Cup is underpinned by its growing experience in hosting top-tier football events. The nation is on the verge of welcoming global fans to the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup and the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to the sport.

This ambitious bid not only highlights Saudi Arabia’s dedication to football but also emphasizes its aspiration to position itself as a global hub for sports, tourism, and cultural exchange.

Hosting the FIFA World Cup would unquestionably attract substantial investments, drive economic growth, and promote the rich cultural heritage of the Middle East, making it an enticing prospect for football enthusiasts worldwide.
