Sarah Inam murder case: Evidence proves prime accused’s guilt, lawyer argues in court

As the Sarah Inam murder case entered a crucial phase, plaintiff lawyer Rao Abdul Rahim, in concluding his arguments, appealed to the court for the imposition of the death penalty on the accused, Shahnawaz Amir.

At the commencement of the hearing, Rahim underscored the credibility of documented evidence, prioritizing it over potential discrepancies in eyewitness accounts. He emphasized the compelling nature of testimonies and evidence, collectively solidifying the guilt of the accused.

Before Sessions Judge Nasir Javed Rana, Rahim meticulously presented key elements from the forensic report, revealing critical details found on the accused’s mobile phone. Among these revelations were two unsettling photographs—one featuring the victim and the other disclosing the alleged murder weapon, a dumbbell. Further incriminating evidence surfaced as details of Sara Inam’s injuries and a broken bone were confirmed by post-mortem findings, establishing that all injuries were sustained prior to her death.

Emphasizing the forensic report’s findings, the plaintiff’s counsel highlighted that a divorce decree had been conveyed via WhatsApp, introducing an additional layer of complexity to the case.

Prosecutor Rana Hassan Abbas strengthened the case by pointing out the deletion of three crucial messages in the chat history between the victim and the accused, potentially linked to discussions about divorce.

The gravity of the proceedings intensified as Samina Amir Shah, the accused’s mother, delivered a chilling testimony, implicating her son in the murder. Furthermore, the damning evidence of bloodstains discovered on Shahnawaz Amir’s shirt and hands at the crime scene added weight to the allegations against him.

Amidst the tense courtroom atmosphere, the judge acceded to the lawyer’s plea and adjourned the hearing until Monday. This pause in proceedings marks a pivotal moment in the trial, leaving the outcome suspended while legal teams prepare for further arguments and revelations in the pursuit of justice in the Sarah Inam murder case.
