Punjab chief minister Maryam Nawaz approves Rs one million financial package for each injured cop

LAHORE: Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz today approved Rs one million financial package for each injured cop in the recent PTI protest.

The Punjab cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, convened in Lahore on Tuesday to address recent developments and incidents of unrest.

During the meeting, the cabinet strongly condemned the violent protests by PTI supporters, particularly the attacks on police and Rangers personnel. Emphasizing the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order, the cabinet announced a comprehensive relief package for those affected by the violence.

A financial package of Rs. 1 million was approved for injured police and Rangers personnel as part of the measures to support the victims.

Additionally, special assistance will be provided to the families of martyrs and those who suffered any damage due to the unrest.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz reported that 172 police officers sustained injuries as a result of what she described as the “brutality of PTI workers” during the protests. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to standing with the victims and pledged strict action against those responsible for the violence.

The cabinet emphasized that such incidents would not deter the government from ensuring the safety and security of its citizens while upholding the rule of law.
