Punjab Assembly Passes Resolution Condemning May 9 Vandalism Against State Institutions

On Thursday, the Punjab Assembly took a decisive step by passing a resolution vehemently condemning the acts of vandalism perpetrated against state institutions on May 9th. Representing the treasury benches, Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman eloquently presented the resolution, underscoring the government’s firm stance against such disruptive actions.

Following this significant move, the session was adjourned until 2 pm on Friday, allowing time for reflection and further deliberation on the matter at hand. This temporary halt in proceedings signifies the gravity with which the Assembly regards the issue and the importance of addressing it comprehensively.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif exhibited unwavering leadership by personally visiting the Jinnah House on Thursday. In a powerful statement, she unequivocally denounced the despicable vandalism inflicted upon the residence of Pakistan’s revered founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Her visit and condemnation not only serve as a symbolic gesture of solidarity but also underscore the government’s commitment to upholding the sanctity of national heritage and institutions.

In the face of such reprehensible acts, the Punjab Assembly’s resolution stands as a testament to its dedication to preserving law, order, and the integrity of state institutions. Through collective condemnation and decisive action, the Assembly reaffirms its role as a bastion of democracy and guardianship of public welfare.

As the session resumes on Friday, it is expected that further measures will be discussed and implemented to address the underlying issues and prevent future occurrences of such destructive behavior. In unity and resolve, the Punjab Assembly and its leaders remain steadfast in their commitment to protecting the values and institutions that form the bedrock of Pakistani society.
